In 2005, Audi Hungary opened a tool factory, where industrial tools used in press shops and bodywork manufacturing facilities are being produced, and exclusive chassis components are also being fabricated for the super sports models of the corporation. Equipment includes massive presses with 50-ton tools capable of exerting a closing force of up to 25,000 kN on workpieces. The tool factory area has been continuously expanded and new presses and 3D laser cutting machines have been put into operation. On a floor space of 50,000 m2, more than 650 employees of the Győr tool factory produce chassis components for over 70 vehicles a day, for exclusive and super sport models of the Audi and Volkswagen Group. In 2016, a new expansion phase of the tool factory was launched. In 2017, the factory was expanded by an additional 15,000 square meters to create capacity for future projects. In 2017, four new presses with a pressing force of up to 2,500 tons were put into operation. Source: AUDI
