The French Institute in Budapest plays a significant role in the cultural life of the Hungarian capital. With the support of French companies and French-Hungarian joint ventures and the contribution of the private and public sector, a high level of partnership has been established, promoting the realisation of large-scale artistic projects and the creation of a positive and dynamic image of France. This 1992 building was designed by architect Georges Maurios, and the small square in front of the building features a sculpture by Hungarian-French sculptor Pierre Székely.
