In 2014, Samsung SDI Magyarország Zrt., which back in 2012 generated HUF 76 billion in sales revenues, closed down its approximately 322,000 square-meter television picture tube factory in Göd after demand for screens had fallen dramatically due to the high power needs of plasma technology. What lies hidden behind Samsung’s current decision to invest in Göd is that all European car manufacturers are dynamically developing their electric cars, so the importance of batteries is continuously increasing.
